This Cookie Policy explains how NiceResume (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit the NiceResume website at niceresu.me and its web application (the “Service”).
The short version: we only use the cookies needed to sign you in and keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things like whether you are signed in. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in a comparable way.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to work. Without them, you cannot sign in or use the resume builder. Because they are essential, they do not require your consent.
Sign-in (Auth.js / Google sign-in):
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in | Up to 30 days |
authjs.csrf-token | Protects sign-in forms against cross-site request forgery | Session |
authjs.callback-url | Remembers where to send you after signing in | Session |
authjs.pkce.code_verifier, authjs.state | Secures the Google sign-in redirect | About 15 minutes |
In production, these cookie names start with __Secure- or __Host-, which means they are only sent over encrypted connections.
2.2 Third-Party Security and Payment Services
- Cloudflare Turnstile: runs a quick check at checkout to confirm you are a real person and not a bot. It processes browser and device signals for this purpose only, not for advertising.
- Stripe: when you pay, you are taken to Stripe’s secure checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there for fraud prevention and to process your payment. These are governed by Stripe’s cookie policy.
2.3 Analytics and Advertising Cookies
We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add a privacy-focused analytics tool in the future, we will update this policy before doing so, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
3. Local Storage
Your resumes are saved to your account on our servers, not in your browser. The app only reads your browser’s local storage once, to move any resumes created with an earlier version of the app into your account, and then clears that data.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies / See all site data and permissions
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to your NiceResume account.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when the cookies we use change, or for legal or regulatory reasons. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
